When a transient, or permanent fault occurs, which exceeds the set fault current in Smart FID, special automatic trigger algorithm Permanent Fault and as the upstream Recloser trips, the circuit line current falls to Zero. The logic circuit recognizes Dead Line that follows fault current and commands 1 or all 3 phases to open simultaneously.
The message is sent via SMS or to SCADA / Cloud. After SFID opens, the upstream Recloser, or Circuit Breaker shall close successfully on the next trial.
